First Pick Labs is actively looking for experienced web developers to join our team and help shape the future of MyFantasyLeague.com and our related fantasy football applications. If you have a passion for fantasy football and a strong background in web development, we want to hear from you!

You will be responsible for developing, testing and maintaining scalable, high-performance web applications using the latest full stack frameworks, cloud platforms and AI technologies. You will be a big part of a very small team developing cutting-edge web apps and features that bring fantasy sports to life for hundreds of thousands of users.
The Impact of Working on a Small Team

FAQs on Job Openings

What does the application process and timeline look like?
We are reviewing applications now and aim to complete the hiring process by mid-December, depending on the number of applicants and scheduling availability. Email the information requested above to ted@firstpicklabs.com. Our development team will review your application, and if selected, you will be contacted for an initial interview. The process typically includes a technical interview, coding challenge, and final discussion. We are a small team and move quickly, so we aim to complete the hiring process within 4-6 weeks. Throughout the process, we’ll keep you informed via email so you know what to expect at each stage.
Is this a remote or on-site position?
These positions are at our WeWork office in the heart of downtown Austin, TX. We are a very small team, so your efforts will impact the business on a daily and weekly basis. We need to be in the same work space to collaborate and work efficiently.
What technologies are used in your development stack?
Our current stack includes Node.js, React, Next.js and TypeScript on the Azure cloud platform. We use GitHub for version control, and our backend is powered by REST APIs and Azure table storage. We are only looking for people that can contribute right away as we don't have the resources to train developers.
Do I need to be an expert in fantasy football or have experience with MyFantasyLeague.com?
While you don’t need to be an expert, a strong understanding of fantasy football, including player data, league formats, and scoring systems, is important. Familiarity with MyFantasyLeague.com and other commissioner services is a plus.
What does a typical day look like for a developer at First Pick Labs?
A typical day at First Pick Labs is focused on what we love most—coding and building great features from the ground up. Our small, highly collaborative team works side by side in an open office environment, allowing us to brainstorm, solve problems together, and get things right early in development. This means less time debugging and re-doing work, and more time delivering quality features to our users. We work out of a WeWork office in downtown Austin, giving us the best of both worlds: the energy and amenities of a large tech company, with the close-knit feel of a startup. Plus, being in the heart of Austin means you're steps away from fantastic food, fitness centers, live music, and more, making it easy to enjoy life in and out of the office.
Do you offer opportunities for training and career growth?
While we don’t have formal training programs due to our small size, the upside is that you’ll be working alongside experienced, highly skilled developers from day one. You won’t have to spend time training others or fixing their mistakes—allowing you to focus on high-impact work. As a member of our team, the more you demonstrate your capabilities, the more responsibility and ownership you’ll be given. There are no limits to your career growth here. You’ll have the opportunity to shape key features, influence major decisions, and potentially grow into leadership roles, including CTO. In fact, we are hoping we find someone with the ambition and talent to eventually take on that position.
What are the work hours and work-life balance like?
We offer flexible work hours, empowering our team members to manage their time efficiently while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Most development work is done during regular business hours and the predictable nature of the fantasy football schedule makes it easy to plan ahead. Whether you’re scheduling vacations or taking time off to recharge, we encourage our team to enjoy life outside of work. Planning is simple, and we fully support finding the right balance between professional commitments and personal time.
