Remembering Kevin Austin

Two years ago, Kevin Austin, the founder of MyFantasyLeague.com, passed away on May 16, 2015 very unexpectedly at the young age of 47. He was a pioneer in the fantasy sports industry when he started developing a league hosting service in the 1990’s. Over the course of almost 20 years, he created a product that still stands out today as the most customizable and flexible web site for hosting a fantasy football league.

Kevin will always be remembered as a good natured friend and co-worker who brought great passion and enthusiasm to his job every single day. He loved coming up with new ideas and developing features to push the envelope of what was expected out of a fantasy football product. He also enjoyed working with customers and took great pride in providing a product that was used by thousands of leagues and hundreds of thousands of users throughout the country and around the world. He is missed on a lot of levels by his co-workers, friends, and customers alike, and leaves behind a lasting legacy with MyFantasyLeague.com, which is still going strong.

But perhaps his greatest legacy is his passion for his family and for helping others in his community. He was a wonderful father and a fantastic role-model to his two daughters, Eve and Emma. He volunteered his time and energy in their schools on a regular basis, and coached their sports teams for many years. He also volunteered his time in the community for various causes and projects. And of course he was a very loving and supportive husband to his wife Kim ever since they met and became high school sweethearts. His final gesture was donating his organs as the gift of life to others in need.

We miss you Kevin. Your generosity and sense of adventure will continue to be an inspiration to all of us!
